I think PunkofNice has a point: This article seems intended to boost the word count for "Jesus" for anyone who does a word search on WTBTS publications ; otherwise its content is as bland as pablum.

My sisters funeral service was just appalling. An absolute disgrace.
by still wondering inmy sisters' funeral service was just appalling.
an absolute disgrace.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/medical/216561/1/my-sister-died-this-morning-after-refusing-blood-on-four-occasions.
the funeral was held today for my sister when every opportunity was used as a sales pitch to promote their malignant message, in this case to any non jw's that may be present, just like any other pyramid scam it seems.. the person whose funeral it is just has a minor bit part to play compared to the main feature , the promotion of the all encompassing multi-talented multi-tentacled wts that you can rely on to guide misguide and pervade every nook and cranny of your life including when to die.. and why not, because as gods only prophet to all mankind, they don't just hear gods voice, they are gods voice.. ***watchtower 1957 june 15 p.370*** "it is vital that we respond to the directions of the "slave" as we would to the voice of god.

I don't have one in my possession, but I recall that there was a note on it a suggestion that the speaker "not eulogize" the deceased.

Why have there been changes over the years in the teachings of Jehovahs Witnesses?
by mankkeli inthe bible shows that jehovah enables his servants to understand his purpose in a progressive manner.
(prov.
4:18; john 16:12) thus, the prophets who were divinely inspired to write portions of the bible did not understand the meaning of everything that they wrote.

New Literature Arrangement
by Quarterback injust recently the org has changed the literature distribution to the congregation members.. the changes are:.
1) publishers are to pick-up their mag's weekly in preparation for what they think they will use that week.
2) group conductors shall now distribute the study article of the wt, and the km.. wonder why they have changed this?.

Pubsinger's point is well taken: the new policy seems directed at limiting the public's access to the Kool-Aid edition; if true, it's a ludicrous exercise in futility.

Special day Last talk "No formula"
by MommieTiger inthis weekend at our special assembly day, let gods will take place the final talk was a head shaker.... the bethel speaker was quite entertaining when he joked @ the shortcomings of the elders.
he also made us laugh with the comment "we were told the end of the system is right around the corner, but we've found its been more than that, we've been around the blocks a few times.
" he told the young ones to make the truth their own by researching in the wtbts publication (only).

Shunning,, let's twist the knife in a little deeper now !
by man in black inthis morning i took my dog who is a therapy dog over to the hospital and visited with several patients.
it is quite an experience, and it really helps people undergoing medical treatment to calm down and relax.. my wife was one of those patients, she is undergoing some tests before getting her gall bladder removed which will probably be sometime tomorrow.. afterwards i took the dog home, cleaned her up, and changed my clothes.
since i was alone i drove over to panara to try one of their breakfast sandwiches, several of the nurses told me that they are pretty good.

Sounds like a gaggle of JWs practicing a time-honored cop-out: skipping out on field service and still counting the tme.

As a JW - Did you See Meetings Continue in Spite of Medical Emergencies?
by flipper ini was talking the other day with a fellow board member about medical emergencies occuring at meetings and how we both agreed that we ( while jw's ) had never seen a meeting stop or be cancelled due to medical emergencies experienced by a fellow jw.
the wt society trains jw' s to lose their authentic human feelings or any empathy towards others physical or emotional sufferings many times.
so many times at meetings , in spite of someone suffering a serious medical emergency it was " the show must go on " type of attitude displayed by congregation elders.. my first experience at seeing a medical emergency at the kingdom hall was an older sister who had an epileptic attack.

Wasanelder: That was heartening to read; I just wish their reaction was the rule, not the exception, as sadly it appears to be.

Two instance I can recall: at the Jersey City assembly hall, an elderery brother succumbed to a heart attact while the Circuit Overseer was on the platform. It happened at the rear of the round floor, or back of what was the ochestra section, of the building. The commotion caused the CO to angrily order an edit to the noise, and continued on his merry way with his useless lecture.
Another: On a PBS program a documentary which highlighted the work of paramedics, several of the first responders related an incident at a Kingdom Hall where they were called to rescue another victim of a heart attack. They said that as they were administering first aid, several JWs sought to push literature on them; it caused them to remark on the JWs strange set of priorities.

Nice work, as usual, Blondie. What the articlwe brings to mind is the Biblical use of "generation;" the whole idea of making the Israelites wander for 40 years in the wilderness was precisely because God sought to punish the faithless "generation" that opposed Joshua and Caleb, mandated that this "generation" "passed away" in the wilderness. So, in God's view, 40 years was enough to accomplish this.

Oct 15 WT life story of Fred Rusk beating children to attend church not a good idea?
by life is to short ini was just flipping through the oct 15 witness only wt about fred rusk as someone on this board had posted about it.. one point that really caught my attention was when fred was talking about being raised by his aunts and how they forced him to attend the baptists church.
he says in his own words "grandfather's older daughters managed the household.
although he was not a religious man, his daughters were strict southern baptists.

one creepy dude, if I remember correctly; didn't look like he had any blood in his veins.
